Kimberly Brown Biography
Kimberly spent her early career working with and advocating for children experiencing psychological, developmental, and academic difficulties. Kimberly trained at the Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital, was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics and developed a Developmental and Educational Assessment Clinic for young children with developmental and/or academic delays at the Palmetto’s Children’s Hospital, Outpatient Clinics. Additionally, Kimberly served on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbia due to her keen interest in supporting disadvantaged children.
Kimberly owned a private practice in Florida and continued her passion of serving children and families prior to returning to South Carolina. She has been employed at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center for the past twelve years and held a joint appointment with the Medical University of South Carolina as a Clinical Instructor. Currently, Kimberly is a Suicide Prevention Coordinator working with Veterans. Much of Kimberly’s time is spent providing training and education to medical and community professionals serving Veterans and conducting risk assessments. She has a small private practice primarily focused on working with individuals impacted by trauma.
Kimberly has two sons, enjoys spending time with her family, and serves on the Board of Trustees of her children’s school.
