The National Sexual Assault Hotline is a safe, confidential service. This hotline is available in both English and Spanish. All calls are confidential and will be answered by a trained information and referral representative. Helpline availability varies according to state and call center.  

Stop It Now! 1-888-PREVENT (888-773-2362) 

Stop it Now! provides a national helpline for adults living in the United States who are concerned for the safety of a child and don’t know what to do. The helpline is available:

  • Monday 12pm-8pm EST
  • Tuesday 12pm-6pm EST
  • Wednesday 12pm-6pm EST
  • Thursday 10am-6pm EST
  • Friday 12pm-6pm EST

The helpline is closed for standard business holidays. All calls are confidential and will be answered by knowledgeable professionals in the field of child sexual abuse prevention. 

The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline Call of Text 1-800-4-A-CHILD (800-422-4453)

The Childhelp National Abuse Hotline is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. Serving the United States, its territories, and Canada, the Hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who, through interpreters, can provide assistance in 170 languages. The hotline offers crisis intervention, information, literature, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. All calls and texts are anonymous and confidential. 

Covenant House Nineline 1-800-999-9999 

Covenant House has shelter facilities across the United States, Canada, and Central America. 

For homeless youth all across the U.S., Canada and Mexico – who aren’t near a shelter facility and need immediate help – reach out any time of the day or night for free, confidential, and immediate crisis intervention. 

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Call or Text 988, or 1-800-SUICIDE (800-784- 2433)

The 988 Lifeline is a 24/7/365, toll-free, confidential suicide prevention hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. The Lifeline’s national network of local crisis centers, provide crisis counseling and mental health referrals day and night. 

Children of the Night Hotline      1-800-551-1300 

The Children of the Night home is open to child prostitutes throughout the United States, and the Children of the Night Hotline is ready and able to rescue these children 24 hours a day. Children of the Night provide free taxi/airline transportation nationwide for America’s child prostitutes who wish to escape prostitution and live in our home.  

National Runaway Safeline 1-800-RUNAWAY (800-786-2929)

A crisis care hotline that can provide you with assistance 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.   The NRS can connect you to help and hope through hotline, online and offline resources. NRS also provides a family reunification program offered in collaboration with Greyhound Lines, Inc. A 24-hour crisis intervention for adolescents and their families as well as runaway prevention counseling.

Childhelp USA National Child Abuse Hotline 

A 24-hour seven days a week child abuse hotline with professional counselors providing crisis intervention, information, literature and referrals. 

United Way 

The United Way invests in and activates the resources to make the greatest possible impact in communities across America, there are local United Ways that have resource and referral information for each zip code.  

SNAP Network  

Survivor Network of those Abused by Priest (SNAP) is an independent, confidential network of survivors of institutional sexual abuse and their supporters who work to protect the vulnerable, heal the wounded,and expose the truth.  

Stop it Now  

The Stop it Now! hotline provides resources to abusers and those at risk for abusing, helping them to stop the abuse and seek help. The helpline is available for abusers, people at risk to abuse, and their friends and family to call for information and resources. 

National Children’s Alliance  

A nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide training, technical assistance and networking opportunities to communities seeking to plan, establish and improve Child Advocacy Centers. The Centers coordinate investigation and intervention services with professionals and agencies to create a team with a child-focused approach to sexual abuse cases. 

Office for Victims of Crime  

OVC provides an Online Directory of Crime Victim Services, a resource designed to help service providers and individuals locate nonemergency crime victim service agencies in the United States and abroad. 

Find-a-Therapist  

This organization offers a solution to the problem of connecting people to the right therapist as a Web-based provider of services for mental health professionals and their clients. 

1in6.org 

Offers online and in-person outreach, education, and services to men who have experienced child sexual abuse. Also provides resources for family members, friends, and partners.  

Male Survivor  

Provides articles and a list of therapists who specialize in helping men who were sexually abused as children. 

WINGS Foundation, Inc. 

Fully describes what you need to do to find a therapist, as well as providing questions on what to ask in a phone conversation with your therapist and explanation of different credentials offered in the field. 

US Department of Justice 

The Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website provides the public with access to nationwide searchable sex offender data. 

National Center for Missing & Exploited Children  

NCMEC provides assistance to parents, children, law enforcement, schools and the community to recover missing children and raising public awareness about how to prevent child abduction, molestation and sexual exploitation. 

Defend Young Minds 

Kids CAN learn to reject pornography. Defend Young Minds empowers parents, professionals and community leaders to protect young kids from pornography, and promotes healing from any sexual exploitation.

Child Advocacy Centers provide medical services including exams and forensic interviews. 

SANE-SART 

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner-Sexual Assault Response Team (SANE-SART) are specifically trained to handle sexual assault examinations and help if you need to ensure that a victim is treated, examined and evidence is collected in a professional, caring and expeditious manner.

The Office of Victims of Crime  

The OVC is an information clearinghouse for emerging victim issues by offering access to a criminal justice library to search for victim-related issues, in addition to information specialists ready to answer your questions, provide statistics and referrals. 

Justice for Children 

The purpose of Justice for Children is to provide a full range of advocacy and services for abused and neglected children; that includes pro-bono legal advocacy, public policy monitoring, guidance through a complex child protective system, professional referrals, mental health services, court watch, research, education, and emotional support. 

National Crime Victim Bar Association 

A network of attorneys and allied professionals dedicated to facilitating civil actions brought by crime victims, along with a referral line to reach local attorneys. 

National Organization for Victim Advocacy 

An organization of victim and witness assistance programs and practitioners, criminal justice agencies and professionals, medical health professionals, researchers, former victims and survivors, along with others committed to the recognition and implementation of victim rights and services.

A national advocacy organization for survivors of child sexual abuse. Their website offers a variety of useful information and free resources for victims of institutional abuse.

National Association to Protect Children 

PROTECT lobbies for legislation that protects children from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. 

Court Appointed Special Advocates 

The National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association, together with its state and local member programs, supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child in the United States can be safe, have a permanent home and the opportunity to thrive.

Child Molestation Research & Prevention Institute 

Provides sex-specific evaluation and treatment that is appropriate for children and teenagers who have or are developing a sexual interest in younger children and for adults who have or are developing a sexual interest in children.  

Safer Society Foundation  

The Safer Society Foundation provides individuals, programs, professionals and family members with referrals to specialized programs that provide services for abuse-reactive children, juvenile and adult sex offenders through the United States.

SASH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to scholarship, training, and resources for promoting sexual health and overcoming problematic sexual behaviors. 

Sex Addicts Anonymous 

The 12-step fellowship of men and women who share both experiences and strength with one another, to allow members to be able to overcome their sexual addiction and help others to recover.
