Erika Rowell

Erika Rowell grew up in Colchester, Vermont. She studied Hospitality Management at Champlain College and proceeded to work in the event planning industry for 6 years. It was during that time that Erika gained a love for volunteering, specifically with Team in Training, part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She participated in Team in Training for 4 races (3 triathlons and 1 marathon), raising around $10,000 for the organization. It was during that time that she decided to make a career change and enter the non-profit industry.
She joined Darkness to Light in 2011, as the Program Coordinator, and is now the Director of Programs. Erika played a vital role in the development and implementation of the revised version of Stewards of Children®, and all five of Darkness to Light’s additional training programs. She led the implementation of Darkness to Light’s online learning management platform, and has been a vital member of the team that has lead the way to train over 1.3 million adults in Stewards of Children®. Erika is married to her husband Michael, and they have two beautiful boys, Hampton and Bowman.
