Pam Giesick is a brave soul and today we thank her for using the events of her past to help protect more children from being sexually abused. Every day more brave souls speak up about the horrific abuse they endured as a child and the devastating impact it has had on their lives. Did you see the 200 men sitting in the audience on Oprah’s recent show? Every one of them sexually violated as a child.
When was the last time you asked your child if anyone has touched them? How would you respond if your child told you that your husband was touching them, like Pam told her Mom as a young child? If only Pam’s mother had known the facts and recognized the signs. That’s where we come in. If you have already taken the training please use this as a reminder to talk to your children. If you haven’t taken the training, please do. A small investment of time will better equip you to protect the children in your life.
Pam Giesick is one of the survivors featured in our prevention training, Stewards of Children. Bluffton Today profiled Pam in their November 9, 2010 issue. Read Pam’s inspiring story here.
