Forty-six people attended the Stewards of Children training on January 15 at the Kalahari Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. Jessica Ritschke, a community educator for Hope House of South Central Wisconsin and Authorized Facilitator of D2L, led the session. Jessica says, “We had great discussions and a variety of participants – child care providers, foster parents, school staff, law enforcement, human services staff, and more.” A reporter with the Dells Events attended and published a story about the successful event. Will you folks be presenting any training in the vicinity of Milwaukee, WI soon? What is necessary to establish a training session in any particular city? Please let me know asap. I’ve stepped out of my darkness and I don’t want to go back. I want to learn the fundamentals of speaking out against child abuse. I was a victim for more than fifteen years and now I need a lot of healthy adults to help me get out there and share my story. I may be sixty years old but it’s never too late to learn.
Please let me know when a training session is available in the Southeastern part of Wisconsin. I live in Waukesha and would be willing to travel to get trained.
I was sexually abused for most of my childhood and a large part of my teen years. It has taken me a long time to step out of the darkness.
Thank you.
Christopher, you can find a D2L training in your area at http://www.D2L.org/NearYou. Thanks so much for your interest in becoming a steward of children!
