Tanya Jordan
Tanya is a champion for children in her community! Serving as the Supervisor of Elementary School Counseling & Social Work for New Hanover County Schools, she coordinated efforts earlier this year to implement a Memorandum of Agreement between The Carousel Center and the school district; by the end of 2023, 100% of school staff and faculty members (approximately 3,200 individuals) will be trained in Stewards of Children! This effort will result in 45 new Partners in Prevention to include 44 individual schools and New Hanover County School District as a whole! Not only did she champion this effort to transform her school environments, but as an Authorized Facilitator, she has taken the lead to coordinate and facilitate each school training. Three schools have been fully trained so far and several others are in the process. Because of her incredible efforts, her schools will be full of active bystanders ready to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to boundary/policy violations or incidents of abuse. Because of her efforts, New Hanover County Schools will set the bar for surrounding school districts, transforming our societal norms!
