Andrea Harner Biography

Andrea Harner is a child forensic interviewer, cold case investigator, and advocate for child protection and justice. She holds a Master’s in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College and is a Wesleyan University graduate.

As a child forensic interviewer with the Mobile Child Interviewing Lab, she provides emergency forensic interviewing services to children in Los Angeles County, ensuring that every interview is legally defensible and conducted with a trauma-attuned approach. She also volunteers as a cold case investigator with the San Diego Police Department, working to bring long-overdue answers to victims’ families.

She serves as Board Chair of Darkness to Light, a national nonprofit committed to empowering adults to prevent child sexual abuse. She believes that every child who feels safe enough to disclose is taking their first step toward healing, every cold case investigation is an opportunity to restore justice, and every act of prevention reminds us that we, as adults, have the power to protect children.

For her, this work is the greatest privilege—but to keep going, she recharges by hiking with her two beloved doodles. She also loves her husband and twin boys very much.
