Keita Cooley is a Prevention Specialist at the Memphis Child Advocacy Center (CAC), where she has worked since 2001. She received a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. As a Prevention Specialist, she trains professionals, daycare providers, student nurses, and teachers on how to recognize and respond to child abuse.
She also educates parents on how to protect their children from sexual abuse. She is an Authorized Facilitator for Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children®. She also provides expert consultations to child serving organizations, professionals, and other community members on case specific scenarios and best practices for policy, prevention, child abuse reporting, and intervention of child abuse.
